Now in its 4th year, Cowboys and Cornbread is a day long celebration of western living
and old-fashioned fun at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds in Placerville, California.

Mutton Bustin' will begin at 3:00 pm | 2:30 CHECK IN for participants
Young cowboys and girls riding sheep for fame and glory!
A fun Rodeo event for the whole family.
Winner receives a buckle!
Limited to 36 Busters. 18 slots will be reserved for El Dorado County residents.
$35 entry. Must reserve spot prior to the event. (Mutton Bustin' Entry Form) Contestants must arrive by 2:30pm. For questions call (530) 621-5860.

Cornbread Contest
12 noon
Judging will occur on stage.
Cornbread
must be received by 11:30 at table near Tiki Bar Stage.
Cornbread must be prepared off site.
Entrants will prepare one loaf (any size) or three muffins for judging

Prize money will be awarded as follows:
3 to 8 Exhibitors - Only 1st place awarded
9 to 16 Exhibitors - 1st and 2nd place awarded
17 or more Exhibitors - 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awarded

Ribbons and Cash Prizes for the winners!
1st place: $50
2nd place: $25
3rd place: $15

Hangtown Harmonica Championship Competition
The Hangtown Harmonica Championship is a highlight of the day's events beginning on the Main Stage at 1pm. Advance registration is required and space is limited to 10 entries.

Hangtown Horseshoe Championship Tournament
Check-in at 11am • Start at 11:30 am
Two-Member Team (Blind Draw) – Double Elimination
Limited to 30 participants. Players must be at least 18 years old.
Please submit registration with $20 cash, check or credit card information per individual entry. Tournament teams will be determined on day of event.
Women will have the "women's throwing advantage" and all teams will compete against each other for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. (Horseshoe Entry Form)

Live Music
Continuous entertainment will keep your toes tappin' and your fingers snappin' with Jon DeFour of Wagons West Kids Camp. You can sit and enjoy the music, or, if you've a mind to, get up and dance a little two-step around the dance floor.
Jon will also teach the audience the Virginia Reel at 3:00 pm.

Panning for Gold - included with admission
Try your hand and see if you can strike it rich in our Panning for Gold exhibit.
Learn what the Gold Rush was all about and learn a thing or two about actually panning while you’re at it.

Blacksmith Exhibition - the art of blacksmithing the old west way
You’ll see period correct tools and techniques watching the blacksmiths hammer away at a piece of raw iron, molding it into one of life’s necessities, or a beautiful piece of art.

Kids' Corral sponsored by Ag in Classroom
Games, hay maze and horsin' around.

Food and Beverages will be available for purchase

Please no pets, coolers, outside food or drinks.

All members of the "Friends of the Fair" will receive recognition in the online El Dorado County Fair Entry Guide and on our year long list of sponsors on our web site which currently receives over 60,000 hits per year.

"Friends of the Fair" help fund capital improvement projects on the fairgrounds as well as helping to sustain the Junior Livestock program.

Membership Levels:

Bronze $ 75 - $149 Includes one (1) four-day season pass to the fair.
Silver $ 150 - $299 Includes three (3) four-day season passes to the fair.
Gold $ 300 - $499

Includes four (4) four-day season passes to the fair.

Platinum $ 500 - $999 Includes four (4) four-day season passes to the fair, Voice of the Fair announcements, an exclusive invitation for two to our 2014 Fair VIP/Media Night held before Fair opens to the public and other special VIP privileges.
Double Platinum $ 1000 + All the great benefits of Platinum Level plus Premium Parking and two (2) additional four-day season passes.
